Motherhood Burnout
Mom guilt. I hear from so many moms who struggle with this feeling and can’t seem to find that work-life balance they crave. I strongly believe mom guilt is a huge side effect of burnout. Burnout isn’t something that happens overnight… It's a vicious cycle of stress and overwhelm.
But before we can avoid burnout, we must first have an awareness of our burnout signs – the things that show us we are headed toward a state of complete emotional, physical and mental exhaustion. The more we understand our stress and overwhelm symptoms, the more we can interrupt that burnout cycle and push through the mom guilt. Our emotional and behavioral patterns show us the signs, but we have to listen to them.
How do we even begin? It begins with awareness of those patterns. Believe it or not, the Enneagram is an excellent resource for avoiding and overcoming burnout! Here are three examples of what it looks like to be each Enneagram mom headed or in burnout.
